Sunrise Trail
A short forested trail alongside the Main Loop trail.
Type: Hike, Bike
Length: 0.6 miles
Shade: Fully shaded
Parking/Access: Park at the Visitors Center and take Steve Garst Trail to Main Loop Trail to Sunrise Trail. From the Historic Garst Farmstead, take Town Loop to Sunrise. If already on the Main Loop Trail, Sunrise can be accessed from either end on the northwest section of the trail.
Though one of Whiterock’s shortest trails, Sunrise offers a lovely walk through the woods adjacent the Main Loop Trail. Starting at either end, visitors will wind through secluded forest while remaining only a short distance from the Main Loop. This short trail is a great detour from the usual sights of the Main Loop Trail. Sunrise’s location away from the busier trails makes it an excellent place to see wildlife. Winding up a short hill, take in a wider view of the north section of Main Loop Trail. The shortest routes to Sunrise Trail are either the Town Loop Trail from the Historic Garst Farmstead or the Steve Garst Trail from the Visitors Center. Like other forested trails, Sunrise Trail is prone to fallen trees and branches after storms. Report downed trees/other maintenance issues.
